Canberra Sunday Assembly Groups meet on a regular basis to promote community, inclusiveness and fun. Anyone is welcome. If you'd like to join a group, please contact one of our Group Coordinators and join in. Our motto is to Live Better, Help Often and Wonder more.
Our Group Leads, who coordinate our upcoming events each month.

If you love singing and have been waiting for the chance to jump up on stage during assemblies, join the choir! We rehearse three evenings a month, as well as a final run-through before the assembly.
Our awesome group coordinator Dayna moved to Hobart in January and we are looking for someone to fill her muddy boots. If you love gardening and would like to manage the vegie patch, please get in touch with our group coordinator Ken.
Hosted by our very own resident documentary film-maker Simon Cunich, the first ever SA Canberra film club was on Wednesday 25th March 2015 in Lyneham.
On top of the groups, we also have a Helping Often arm of the Sunday Assembly. So far our activities in this space largely revolve around our regular 'Walk n Weeds', however we'd have the 'Helping Often' team expand our volunteering activities in the broader Canberra community, please contact Sonya.
The Mindfulness Group aims to help assembly members develop and sustain their own meditation practice, by exploring relevant writing and engaging in formal and informal practice in an encouraging group environment.
The Yarners get together fortnightly to work on creative projects involving yarn and other materials, over cups of tea or coffee, cake (of course!) and great conversation. As well as personal projects, we have created items for community projects such as handcrafted clothes, rugs and toys for mothers and babies at Toora Women, and Knitted Knockers for breast cancer survivors.
If you play an instrument and would like to make our music even better, we want to hear from you. It doesn't matter what you play - we can be creative and incorporate your talents.
Sunday Assembly is not just for adults, kids are very welcome. We have activities for the children whilst the assembly is proceeding.
For people who love to cook without shortcuts and using natural ingredients.
The Sunday Assembly Book Club meets at Tilley's cafe at 3 pm on the first Sunday of the month to discuss a book we have had an opportunity to read.
Please click on the green button at top of page to find a list of meetings and books.
I (Emma) have borrowed the books using the ACT libraries independent book club facility so there is no need to purchase books.
A friendly and supportive environment for people exploring how to live a meaningful life without necessarily having a faith to guide it.
Taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary. The group meets monthly to both discuss and/or adventure (through mini local excursions!).
